Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Tawakel Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales with its registered office at 20–22 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU, United Kingdom. They govern your use of the 99 Names mobile application and this website (together, the "App"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your country, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agrees to these Terms on your behalf. The App is not intended for users under 13.

3. Your account

• You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity on your account.
• Provide accurate information when you sign up, and keep it up to date.
• One person, one account. Don't share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of other people without permission.
• You can close your account at any time from Settings → Delete account, or by emailing support@99namesapp.com.

4. Acceptable use

When using the App, you agree not to:

• Use the App for anything illegal, harmful, hateful, harassing, or deceptive.
• Post a username, feedback message, or any other content that is offensive, insulting towards any religion or community, sexually explicit, threatening, or that infringes someone else's rights.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or otherwise extract the App's source code, databases, or Name content beyond normal personal use.
• Probe, attack, or interfere with the App's servers or security, or attempt to gain access to another user's account.
• Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to inflate scores, streaks, XP, leaderboards, or multiplayer outcomes.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App or its content.

We may remove content, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these rules. Where your username or feedback is flagged, we may replace the username or delete the message at our discretion.

5. Content in the App

The App contains religious content including the Arabic names, translations, transliterations, meanings, and reflections of the 99 Names of Allah. We've done our best to present this content accurately and respectfully, drawing from traditional Islamic scholarship, but we don't claim it to be an authoritative religious ruling. For in-depth religious guidance, please consult a qualified scholar.

Except for the names of Allah themselves, which are not owned by anyone, the App's translations, illustrations, code, design, and curated reflections are owned by Tawakel Ltd or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial use.

6. Feedback you send us

If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use that feedback to improve the App. We won't publicly attribute feedback to you without your permission.

7. Donations and in-app purchases

• The App is free to use. You may optionally make one-time or recurring donations through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
• All donations are processed by Apple or Google under their own terms. Refunds are subject to their policies; we can't directly refund store-processed payments.
• Use of donations. Of every donation we receive, 50% is forwarded to registered charitable causes and 50% supports the development team maintaining the App. We may publish periodic summaries of how donations were used.
• Donations are not a purchase of any premium feature unless explicitly described as such. You get the same App whether you donate or not.

8. Availability & changes

We work hard to keep the App available and reliable, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent. We may change, add, or remove features, content, or the entire App at any time. Where a change is significant, we'll give you reasonable notice.

9. Third-party services

The App relies on third parties including Supabase, Mixpanel, RevenueCat, Apple, and Google. Your use of those services through the App is also subject to their terms and privacy policies. We're not responsible for third-party services we don't control.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access — with or without notice — if you breach these Terms, put the service or other users at risk, or if required by law. On termination, your right to use the App ends, but the sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) continue to apply.

11. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. Your use of the App is at your own risk. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that by law cannot be limited, including your statutory consumer rights under UK or EU law.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tawakel Ltd will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or learning progress, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you have paid or donated to us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £50.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Tawakel Ltd harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the App, or your violation of any law or third-party right. This does not apply where prohibited by law.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and notify you in the App before the change takes effect. Continued use of the App after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from these Terms or the App, except that consumers resident in the EU or Northern Ireland retain the benefit of any mandatory local consumer protection rights and may bring proceedings in their local courts.
